Here's how to proceed to obtain this result.
First of all we'll take measurement of the chest's circumference (E), obtaining an indication for at least two potential sizes, one of which will be the Long version (except for the XXXS, L or XL sizes which don't have a Long version).
This means Dora will be able to wear both a completely open S size or an almost completely closed M size.While this isn't a strict rule, our suggestion in these cases would be to choose the bigger size to be able, for exmple, to face an eventual increase in weight, the inevitable shrinking of the webbing (approximately 7%) or even consenting the use of a winter coat.Some people prefer going for the smaller size because it is lighter.We chose the M size for Dora. |

We can however see from the configurator's chart that for the same chest circumference the table also suggests the ML (or Medium Long) size.
Which one to choose?
The "Long" sizes were designed to ensure the dog's maximum mobility and comfort making it so that there's enough space between the shoulder and the webbing to avoid it creating rubbing under the armpits, and at the same time to allow the scapula to move freely without constraints.
Let's now see how to evaluate this parameter that we're going to call X:
We'll consider the B and D measures of the harness (following picture).

The B segment is the non-adjustable one and it's going to rest along the spine from the neck's base to the leash's ring.
The D segment is adjustable and it will be found along the dog's sternum.
The correct choice of the of B and D's lenght (based on what is shown by the configurator) will allow the segment E, once the harness is closed, to stay away from the dog's armpits and scapulas, the distance X will have to be of about 4 fingers.
Warning: for reference, it's important to consider that the R1 ring will'have to be at the neck's base between the scapulas (cervicothoracic junction of the spine) and the R2 ring will have to correspond to the tip of the sternum (manubrium).
At this point, knowing the measurements of the segments B and D of the suggested harness sizes, you can choose either the Standard or the Long version based on what you have verified on your dog.

Insert the measure of the chest's circumference in centimeters (cm).
The Enter Key returns the sizes included in that range, for example S and M with the corresponding measures of B and D and a drawing showing how to take them on your dog. Then after measuring you can choose on your own.
